Actually I tune my ERB-9 In fourths all the way from F# to B flat...I'm right,yee-haa
I have been checking the gauges on Conklin's and S.I.T.'s websites(Powersteel strings are rad). The hardest for me is to get'em shipped where I am.It's quite impossible when I'm in Norway(I don't know why, USA dudes won't ship it to my Elders land),so I just ordered 6 string sets!
I would like to set my ERB-9 to a low C# or even a B...I play extremely various styles, with various techniques, pick or not, slap/pop or not,two hand-tap or not... but often end up deafening crowds in some metal band.
Fun,but not as much as a Jazz-Fusion trio in a nice bar in Denmark...
I come from bowed instruments,so you may guess I worked a lot on dynamics...I swear it's easier with a bow!
I bet you've been asked this kazillions of times, but how do you tune your ERB/Sub, and how do you find the right strings?I mean, the right gauge for each note?
I really need help about this...If you've got a bit of time, please drop me a note!
