bass musician magazine

I've been a working pro for over 20 years playing bass. I've played with some great musicians like Charles Haynes, Robert Walter, Aaron Goldberg, Matt Garrison, Mike Clark and the Headhunters, Brian Jordan, Donald Harrison, Brian Blade, Steve Hass, Jorge Rossy, Kai Eckhardt, Erik Jekebson, Dr. John, Scott Kinsey, Vinx, Steve Houghton, George Garzone, Dow Brain, Kei Akagi, Tiger's Baku, Greg Tardy, Antonio Sanchez, Steve Hunt, Bob Moses, and many others. Recorded what has become sort of a "post modern" jazz/fusion classic called "Blown Fuse" in collaboration with Steve Hunt. Check out some tracks while you are here.

I've been a college professor, had over a hundred private students, and I've traveled the world playing. I'm in the Bay Area of CA, my home state, now and digging it. I have my sites set on making another CD and then a live DVD. It will have killing players on it and should be pretty bad ass. Watch for it sometime in '08 if all goes well. If not then I'll get it out in 2009. As long as I get it out before 2012 when all hell is supposed to break loose.

For more information check out my website "Pick's Place" at http://www.lucaspickford.com. There you can pick up a copy of "Blown Fuse" or you can just go to http://www.cdbaby.com/pickford. Also, be sure to dig my father, Loren Pickford's CD's available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lorenpickford. My old man is one of THE BEST modern jazz alto sax players in the US. No lie! He's bad ass and he taught me most everything I know.

"Pick's Place" has one one the biggest transcription libraries on the Internet (all instruments) everyone from Jaco to Victor Wooten, McLaughlin to Scofield, Corea, Hancock, Brecker, Coltrane and many more all for FREE!! Go learn from the Masters. To hell w/ music school! Save your $$ . Dig!!

-Pick

Weather Report, Headhunters, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Jaco Pastorius, Gary Willis, Chick Corea, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Anthony Jackson, Marcus Miller, Miles Davis, Loren Pickford, William S. Burroughs, Indian Classical Music, Joe Zawinul, Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez, Ron Carter, Bill Evans (Pianist), Steve Hunt, Stanley Clarke, Jimmy Johnson and many more.

Well hello my friend.

It feels like years since i have been within the walls of BMM.

But rest assured, i have been promoting the name of Bass Musician Magazine worldwide while i have been away, in every possible way. I feel we have the best Bass guitarist's in the World now associated with this magazine, and that is quite an achievement to be accomplished in just a few years eh.

I hope you have read and enjoyed my recent interviews here at the mag with JD DeServio and Billy Sheehan.

The next one up for the October issue is Stu Hamm, which is gonna be quite a read for you all too,I hope.

Don't forget that you can catch up with me at www.myspace.com/biscuitandbass4 to hear some of my music, and also feel free to email me at biscuitandbass3@yahoo.com  with any questions you may have regarding the Magazine or Bass related or Music topics. I am also to be found on facebook as "BISCUIT AND BASS too if you feel inclined.., and remember that ya BISCUIT is always the approachable "Face of Bass" so contact me asap.

You can also join my groups here at BMM,.. Both Spector and Hartke, who i have been endorsed by for the last three years, as an Artist. They are both Wonderful companies, producing for me, the greatest Low end gear in the world.

So Stay close eh..... Peace and Respect, BISCUIT
