Title: An Interview with Anthony Jackson
Tags: Anthony Jackson, bassist Anthony Jackson, bass player Anthony Jackson
Blog Entry: In my article in the current issue of Bass Musician Magazine , I took a rather bold step and decided to tell it like I see it as far as the Arts, the music business, and the general mentality towards musicians is concerned in this country….unfortunately a rather dark picture these days. After recently completing my interview with Anthony Jackson for the April issue, I felt the need to express a very well articulated viewpoint he shared as far as what we as musicians could do to enact change within this darkened scenario. This is not about pulling 2 or 3 quotes from a lengthy, yet extremely poignant and obviously very heart felt response that he shared, this is about being reminded by one of the most respected artists in his field that the oldest of truths are still, in this 21 st  century, the wisest of choices to be considered……be totally true to “yourself” (as well as your art), without fear or intimidation of the construct or the people that surround you. That simple path, taken seriously, and acted upon one individual at a time represents the most powerful force we could hope to procure in the quest to impose change within our society…….one act of random individual commitment at a time.
