Damian Erskine is not your ordinary bass player. While in town, Damian hones his chops with some of the best jazz and latin musicians the West coast has to offer. Damian is known for his ability to fit into any musical situation and his extraordinary reading and improvising skills. Damian has played either in the studio or on stage with the likes of Teri-Lynn Carrington, Gino Vannelli, Les McCann, Jeff Lorber, Charmaine Neville, Luis Perdomo, Peter Erskine, Tony Furtado, Alan Jones, Ore. Jazz Society Hall of Famer Dan Balmer, Flamenco phenom Toshi Onizuka, Klezmocracy, Salsa virtuoso Ramsey Embick, songstress Stephanie Schneiderman and many others. Wether playing as a sideman or with his own trio, he will provide rock solid bass, virtuosic solos and thoughtful chordal work.

Well hello my friend.


It feels like years since i have been within the walls of BMM.


But rest assured, i have been promoting the name of Bass Musician Magazine worldwide while i have been away, in every possible way. I feel we have the best Bass guitarist's in the World now associated with this magazine, and that is quite an achievement to be accomplished in just a few years eh.


I hope you have read and enjoyed my recent interviews here at the mag with JD DeServio and Billy Sheehan.


The next one up for the October issue is Stu Hamm, which is gonna be quite a read for you all too,I hope.

Hey Damian,

Guess what...... we almost met you at Namm! I just wasn't sure it was you because your Name tag was under the bass. You were playing a bass at MTD. And we had just run into David Dyson. He took photos of all of us  separately. (he has them up on his Myspace)
