WELCOME TO KOT BASSES

As musicians, we’re given the unique opportunity of sharing who we are through a medium which has been undeniably coined “The Universal Language.” As editor of Bass Musician Magazine, I have the rare privilege of interviewing some of the most prestigious bassists on the planet. “Finding one’s voice” is not only a commonality in discussion, but has proven to be a multifaceted concept in the eyes of these exceptional players. Within this multifarious concept rests one of the “links”, or perhaps better said, “vehicles” to that elusive discovery: your personal instrument. As a company, Kot Basses strives to create instruments that will be a vehicle, or catalyst, within the process of discovering the “universal” voice inherent to each of us, and which we each aspire to develop.

We’ve worked hard to perfect what we feel are the essential aspects of a great instrument and what comprises it to be personal: the elements of sound, feel, and playability. We feel the fruition of addressing these components in great depth and bringing them to our instruments keeps the focus of the player not on the “vehicle”, but instead where it should be- “the communication itself”.
